WE ARE VYN
VYN was founded by the Swiss designers Catherine Meuter and Stefan Mathys in 2019. With over 25 years of international experience in footwear design (Giorgio Armani, Harrys of London, SWIMS, Reiss) they are passionate about bringing circular thinking to the footwear industry. VYN came to life over a discourse about the sneaker industry being one of the most polluting in the fashion industry. Production costs are increasing and the consumer is being asked to pay more while accepting lower quality and even less longevity in their sneakers. Sneakers are made of over 40 components and are not repairable as the parts cannot be removed nor replaced.

Wir wollen einen Sneaker kreieren, welcher der Zeit standhält. Wir glauben an Langlebigkeit und Wertschätzung als treibende Kraft in allem, was wir erschaffen, konsumieren und mit dem wir in Beziehung stehen. Nach drei Jahren Forschung und Entwicklung fand VYN seine Geburtsstätte in einer familiengeführten Manufaktur in Norditalien, wo die hochwertigen Sneakers in Handarbeit mit ihrer einzigartigen, nachhaltigen Signatur hergestellt werden.

In manufacturing we stand for transparency. All our materials and components come from European certified partners. The VYN sneakers are hand-crafted by Italian artisans to guarantee the highest quality, fair labour practices and to keep our CO2 footprint low.
